In this interactive breakout session, we’ll explore a new experimental approach to mastering the elusive “conversational read.” Despite how often we hear this directive, most voice actors haven’t studied what real conversation actually sounds like—or how to replicate its patterns on the mic.

This session blends acting, social psychology, and linguistics to help voice actors identify the unconscious tools we already use in natural dialogue and bring those tools into conscious, actionable performance techniques. We’ll study real speech, use audience participation, and explore exercises like “The Blah Blah Technique” to discover how rhythm, context, and intent can transform the most robotic script into something that actually sounds like a human being said it.
