In this workshop, we will focus on how to adapt your audition performance to genre conventions in animation and video games, focusing on storytelling literacy and character flexibility. We will go over how vocal tone, pacing, intensity, and other variations can shift your performance to fit your intended audience. Students will be given short scripts and tasked with performing the same script to match the genre of animation or video game and appearance of the character. You will be presented with live, personalized feedback and then perform a second take with adjustments. At the end, we'll have a Q&A to dig into deeper questions such as what casting directors and agents are listening for in different genres and trends that are currently happening.
