How Will My Family Affect my VO Career?
Description

Have kids? Stay at home parter? Retired parents living with you? Are you wanting to start or expand your family? Is it really possible to get vo work and manage all the personal family challenges? There are so many factors that differentiate each talent from the next in regards to their home life, support and help, personal responsibilities. Take it from someone that does it all! Outside of being a voice actor, I am a what some call a Domestic Engineer...I'll give you a second to look up what that means. I'll admit I am a bit of a glutton for punishment with taking on a lot of additional responsibilities in my personal life like starting homeschooling, managing the finances, planning, investing, doing all the duties of a wife and mom, sister, daughter and not to mention running my VO biz all by myself...usually by myself for 12+ hours at a time. While I know I am not alone in this, it is definitely a struggle most times, mentally, emotionally and I'm, well...exhausted. The price we pay, right? Well, don't use my personal approach as the end all be all example of how to balance work/life. There are alternatives and ways to help yourself out and make your work/life easer, like virtual assistants, nanny's, editors, maids and one of my all time favs... Instacart, that can make a huge difference in your workflow and attempt at balance. Don't allow life and the people in it to hinder your voiceover career.
